1. Schedule an Initial Consultation: Call our office at (973) 451-0143 to schedule a time for our sales team to come to your home and assess your project needs. Our consultant will walk you through the process of renovating or building your new home and discuss with you budgets and the selection process.
2. Review of historical Information: Based upon the scope of your project, our sales consultant will review some of our past projects and develop budgetary ranges for your project. Depending on your needs, we will also include a cost to design your project as well. This Design Agreement will include the cost to have meetings to design your custom spaces, prepare drawings for permitting, and help you with the selection of materials to be used.
3. Execution of Design Agreement: Once you have reviewed the design agreement it is time to start planning your project!! We will come to measure your home “with the precision of a surgeon”. Every wall, window, and door must be measured. From this information we will draw your existing spaces and come up with some preliminary concepts for your review. Your design coordinator will meet with you to show you what your new spaces will “look” like. Generally there are two to three meetings to complete this step. While drawing your spaces, RPI will keep an eye on your budgetary goals and review items that could affect your bottom line.
4. Selection Process: Our Product selection coordinator will set up meetings with you to help you in the process of selecting the finish materials for your project. Some of these items will include tile, bath fixtures, and kitchen fixtures. These items, once selected will be used to price your project with an accurate pricing structure. It will narrow down your decisions and set real numbers to your project.
5. Due Diligence site visit and plan review: If your project is a home renovation, RPI will visit your home and review the plans with key contractors to help them provide accurate pricing information to us. We will identify potential pitfalls or challenges we find with existing construction, so that we may eliminate the surprise factors during the course of the project. For example if you want to remove the “soffits” in your kitchen, we will look to see if plumbing or ductwork runs through them and then identify the cost information to remove these items so that you may enjoy a soffit-less kitchen
6. Final analysis: Once the above items are complete, RPI will present you will a complete project analysis booklet. This includes final plans, specifications, and pricing information. At this time, we will review your entire project including all of the details of your selections. Further we will discuss the process of constructing your new spaces and what will be required to do. This is the framework of your project and becomes our playbook to complete the build out of your new home. Once this section is completed and executed, its time to start building!!!
7. Permitting: RPI will complete and submit all of the necessary documentation to the local municipality for approvals to construct your project. As required by law, the local municipalities have 20 business days to approve the permit application. What this means is essentially one month from permit submission. Depending on the size and scope of your project, these times may vary.
8. Construction Begins: RPI oversees all aspects of construction for you. From scheduling trades and coordinating the delivery of materials to scheduling inspections, RPI will be there every step of the way. We will continue to help you with design selections and help you meet your project goals!
